The cities of the Silk Road have a similar asset that is related to their history. All these cities are historic and it gives them a strong potential for the tourism industry. Attention to these cities in relation to the Silk Road contains a strong potential for them toward cultural tourism. Tourism as an economic asset can cause the development of the cities. Consequently, tourism enhancement can support the cities’ development and frequency of citizen satisfaction. Iran has a long background in tourism so in the current development plans, the tourism industry is assumed not only as an economic sector but also as a cultural objective. As the eleventh government took charge, a new set of urban Improvement and renewal policies and programs were launched. In this period, through analyzing and troubleshooting previous experiences, a new approach entitled “Sustainable Urban Regeneration” was considered. The compatibility of Iranian Government Strategies with Silk Road Policies will result in growing Citizens’ opportunities. Increasing the relationship with other cities and other countries on the Silk Road can increase these opportunities.
